Gretna boss Dave Irons is delighted to have held onto defender Aurelien Collin beyond Thursday's transfer deadline.

Italian giants Lazio were credited with an interest in the French defender, right, while Sheffield United, Wolves and Coventry were also tracking him. Irons said: "If Lazio were interested, we didn't get a phone call.

"But I'm aware of interest and know other clubs are watching him, certainly south of the border.

"If he keeps playing well, that will obviously remain the case. But we're pleased he's with us for now."
