Vince Grella was sent from the pitch as his side Blackburn Rovers managed to defeat Aston Villa 2-1 at Ewood Park. The Australian international was handed a second yellow card in the 68th minute after earlier being booked just after the half-hour mark.
Thankfully for Grella, the Rovers managed to pick themselves up from an early deficit after Villa's Gabriel Agbonlahor scored in the 3rd minute.
Christopher Samba equalised in the24th minute and despite Grella's sending off, David Dunn was able to convert an 89th minute penalty caused by Richard Dunne handling the ball in the area.
Grella's Socceroos teammate Brett Emerton made an impact when he came on in the 54th minute and almost scored a winner with seven minutes remaining.
