Grella hoping for luck to return to fitness and form with Blackburn

Blackburn Rovers midfielder Vince Grella is hoping for a bit of luck after almost two seasons of niggling injuries.

The Australia international has struggled to play consistently with the Rovers since his move from Italian club Torino in 2008 but is looking for a change of luck to get back to full fitness and top form prior to the World Cup which kicks off in June in South Africa.

"It's been a bit of a nightmare run in England for me, a bad roller-coaster ride," he told The Daily Telegraph.

"When I've been fit and on the pitch I've done well, I just haven't had any consistency. I'm positive that with a bit of luck I could get some joy, and hopefully I can actually use the freshness to do well at the World Cup."

Grella returned to the Rovers first team on the weekend in the scoreless draw with Portsmouth at Fratton Park, coming on as a 64th minute sub for Steven N'Zonzi.
