Non-leaguers Greenwich Borough have failed with a move for former Tottenham and Juventus star Edgar Davids.
The former Ajax, AC Milan and Barcelona star, who has been capped 74 times by his country, entered advanced talks with the club over a switch.
The Daily Star says Greenwich chairman Perry Skinner claimed he was "70 percent sure he'll come on board", but the move has now fallen through.
A club statement said: "Unfortunately the attempt to sign Edgar Davids has not been as successful."
