Former AS Roma midfielder Leandro Greco claims the club is trying to push Daniele de Rossi out.

Stories have emerged over the past fortnight of Roma being prepared to sell De Rossi in January.

"I think they are finally going to succeed in selling De Rossi," Olympiacos midfielder Greco told Radio Manà Manà.

"They have been able to change the mentality of the people, as until a few months ago the fans would've been ready to march through the streets to defend him.

"What's happening at Roma is shameful. He is a serious professional, his sale would be damaging to both Roma and the city of Rome."
