Grayson: Bates saved Leeds from oblivion

Leeds United boss Simon Grayson wants victory over FA Cup opponents Manchester United tomorrow so he can earn a trip to Monaco!

Grayson reckons slaying Manchester United will finally earn him an invitation to Elland Road chairman Ken Bates' plush Monte Carlo pad.

Grayson and Bates chat regularly on the phone and the chairman will come out of his tax haven to watch his team at Old Trafford.

The lifelong Leeds fan said: "Ken's a passionate football man. He saved this club from oblivion and all he wants is for it to be successful again.

"We have a good relationship but it's dependant on results - but I've not been invited to Monaco yet!"

Grayson added: "This will give my lads a taste of what playing in front of 70,000 people is like and they should want more."
