West Ham United boss Avram Grant hopes his new signings quickly gel together to help pull the club out of the relegation mire.
The Israeli tactician saw his side slump to a 1-0 home defeat at the hands of fellow cellar dwellers Birmingham City on Sunday, just days after crushing Blackpool 3-1 at Bloomfield Road.
He understands that it is not easy for the likes of Robbie Keane, Demba Ba, Wayne Bridge and Gary O'Neil to step straight in and have an impact but says players of this quality should do it quicker than others.
"We need to adjust as quickly as possible," Grant told BBC Sport.
"We have a very important game next week [against West Brom] and I think the good players will adjust quickly."
The loss to the Blues consigned the Hammers to bottom spot on the league table meaning Grant will have to work some magic to get the East Londoners out of the spot of bother they find themselves in, starting with the Baggies at The Hawthorns on Saturday.
