Grant impressed as West Ham claim three vital points

West Ham boss Avram Grant says his team controlled the match against Liverpool and deserved their 3-1 victory. The Israeli reserved special praise for captain Scott Parker who insisted on playing, despite carrying an injury.

And Grant believes the Hammers will avoid relegation after "one of the best" displays of the season.

He said: "We've had good performances before but today we were more consistent. Most of the game we played well and when it went to 2-0 I thought we could score more goals.

"Most of our games this season are good to watch because there are a lot of goals."

He added: "The players know that we have a lot of difficult games, but if we continue like this we should be ok."
