Avram Grant wants to take Chelsea striker Nicolas Anelka to Russia with him.

The former Chelsea and West Ham United manager is in talks about taking the football director's job at big-spending Anzhi Makhachkala.

And Dagestan sources say Grant's first signing could be Anelka, who he took to Chelsea when he replaced Jose Mourinho as manager. Anelka faces being squeezed out at Chelsea with new gaffer Andre Villas-Boas planning to bring in his own striker signings.
