Aston Villa coach Peter Grant is impressed by the players' work on the training ground this week after defeat in the Carling Cup to Bolton Wanderers.
Grant insists there's a steely determination to put things right against QPR after the team's dressing room heart to heart.
"Of course we're looking for a response and I'm confident we're going to get one anyway," Grant told Villa's website.
"We had a good chat to the lads after the game about what went wrong and about how we didn't do the fundamentals right.
"The good, encouraging thing from our point of view is that they listened to it and they took it all on board.
"They didn't try to hide or to blame someone else. There were no excuses.
"When they do that you know you've got problems but they all accepted that they must do much, much better. And we accepted that as well."
