Grant admits Chelsea coaches told players home truths

Chelsea boss Avram Grant admits he and his coaching staff steamed into the players at halftime of Saturday's victory over Manchester City.

Blues captain John Terry revealed Grant and his staff had lost their tempers with the players during the half-time break against Manchester City on Saturday.

Grant, Henk ten Cate and Steve Clarke were at pains to point out that, even though their side was leading 1-0, they had to keep their focus and concentration in order to finish off the opposition.

"I spoke with the players," said Grant. "My assistants also said something from the heart like we always do.

"It was not something unusual. We spoke about what we needed to do better in the second half against Manchester City.

"I spoke first and then they said what they had to say. They spoke from the heart and I like that.

"We have a normal procedure. I speak about the tactical side and then my assistants speak. We are a team."
