Grandin hails influence of Holloway on Blackpool success

Blackpool midfielder Elliot Grandin has hailed the influence of manager Ian Holloway on this season's success.

Frenchman Grandin admits he has never met a boss like wacky Holloway and reckons his unique style is the biggest factor in the Seasiders success story.

He said: "He is our Crazy One! He is always in a good mood but he is not like he looks in interviews.

"He is small, but he is as noisy as thunder. When you arrive to training in the morning he is already there, yelling in the corridors and telling you what to do.

"He is the star here. He has a Latin temperament. During the chat before the Manchester City game he was going through details on the opposition while telling a joke to every player to relax the atmosphere.

"I love it here because of that and he also tries to play football. We are a bit like Lyon when we had Gourcuff and Juninho.

"The Premier League is the best in the world. You cannot cheat, the matches are great. And you face top players, like Michael Essien.

"We are the darlings of the media. We are a small but good team, even if the club came up too quickly to the Premier League. Our infrastructure did not follow so fast. But it keeps our feet on the ground."
