Former Tottenham boss George Graham feels Jose Mourinho or David Moyes would be ideal to succeed Harry Redknapp.
Graham hopes chairman Daniel Levy seriously considers Real Madrid coach Mourinho or Everton's Moyes should Redknapp take the England job.
He told the Sunday Mirror: "If he goes for one of the top earners, then I would think Mourinho would be first choice. He wouldn't be earning at Tottenham as much as at Real Madrid. No chance.
"I wouldn't have thought he needs any more money.
"He would have earned fortunes at Chelsea, Inter-Milan and in Madrid. He might just see Tottenham as a great chance to come back into English football - which he loves. Mourinho is a proven winner.
"Everywhere he has been, he has won trophies. His record cannot be questioned.
"He will look at the class squad that Harry has put together at Tottenham and be very impressed. It is a team with Premier League title potential.
"For me, Mourinho would be a fantastic appointment."
At the other end of the financial scale, Graham has been hugely impressed with the job Moyes has done at Everton on a shoestring budget.
"He has kept them up there in the top half of the table on an incredibly small budget," said Graham. "He got them into the top four one season and that's a remarkable achievement.
"He has also been talked about for some time as the successor to Sir Alex Ferguson when he decides to call it a day at Manchester United. It is the kind of appointment that might appeal to Daniel Levy.""But it seems as though he is not totally happy there and could well leave at the end of the season. If he does, I believe he could see Tottenham as a great challenge.
