Yoan Gouffran is ready to step in at Newcastle United.
The Frenchman was handed a defensive midfield role against West Brom reserves yesterday afternoon and completed 90 minutes at Whitley Park.
He told the Evening Chronicle: “It's important to be ready to play. The manager knows I can play two or three positions.
“I have to be patient. I don't play a lot of games, but I have to be ready to play. I don't know when."
