Gouffran urges Newcastle players to give everything for the club

Newcastle United forward Yoan Gouffran has implored his teammates to give 100% back to the struggling club.

The Frenchman sees the Magpies sitting third bottom on the Premier League table without a win from seven matches which is placing plenty of strain on the players and the coaching staff.

With the Toon faithful expecting much more from their team, Gouffran has spoken out about the current situation at St James' Park and has urged Alan Pardew's side to give absolutely everything for the supporters.

"We have to work not only for the manager but also the club and the fans, we have to do our best and try to win," he told the Sunderland Echo in the wake of the weekend's 2-2 draw at Swansea City.

"It (Swansea) was a very good point for us and our confidence, I think it is a great point for the team and the fans."

He added: "It was difficult as we lost games and we didn't score, we didn't play very well, we understand the fans and they were disappointed and a little bit angry.

"We have to look forward and give 100% for the club."

Newcastle return to action after the international break with a home fixture against Leicester City on October 18.
