Yoan Gouffran has no problems filling any role asked of him by Newcastle boss Alan Pardew. The Frenchman says he is just delighted to be involved on a regular basis, with versatility a useful asset in a squad brimming with attacking talent.
He told the Evening Chronicle: "We have a lot of quality options here. We have Loic Remy as well as Shola Ameobi and Papiss Cisse in the squad.
"I don't mind who I play with. We have a lot of competition for places and that is the most important thing. We must keep working hard."
Gouffran added: "I am the type of player who wants to do a job for the team. That is the most important thing for me.
"I can play in different positions in attack or, if needed, I can play as a number nine.
"It is up to the manager to decide. I will play in whatever role he asks me."
