Gosling in no hurry to leave Newcastle

Dan Gosling insists he wants to fight for a regular spot in Newcastle United's first team.

The 22-year old midfielder has struggled with injuries since he made the move from Everton in 2010 but is not about to leave a great club who are preparing for the Europa League just so he can get an easy game elsewhere.

"I just want to get more time on the pitch," he told the Evening Chronicle.

"We all knew we had quality here but none of us were going round saying that we'd be in the top four at the end of the season.

"We always just aimed for the top 10 and as the season progressed we were still up there and it went to the Europa League.

"We'd have been very happy with it if we'd been offered it.

He added: "I still love it here. It's a great club to be at.

"This club will always attract players but hopefully my opportunity will come."
