Gordon says new Chelsea deal won thanks to Kilmarnock spell

Chelsea fullback Ben Gordon is grateful to Kilmarnock for his loan spell this season.

Gordon, is now set to join npower Championship side Scunthorpe on loan for the remainder of the season after agreeing a new two-and-a-half year deal at Stamford Bridge.

And he was quick to pay tribute to Killie for the part they played in his development.

Gordon said on Killie's official website: "I have just experienced one of the best chapters of my footballing life, and due to the gaffer and (assistant manager) Kenny Shiels' efforts and the support of the entire squad, I have been rewarded with a new two-and-a-half-year contract at Chelsea.

"I hope the lads continue their great work and get Killie into Europe - it would be fantastic to look back and say I played a small part in that."
