Craig Gordon says players are mad if they turn down Sunderland.

Black Cats boss Roy Keane has suffered rejection from Portsmouth pair Younes Kaboul and David Nugent, but Gordon says: "Sunderland was the only team I spoke to.

"For me, this was the right club to join at the right time and I've never looked back.

"You don't get many chances to sign for a club as big as Sunderland and I took the chance when it was offered. But everybody is different.

"Other people have decided not to come here and gone elsewhere instead. For some of them it worked out - but for others, it didn't."
