The 23-year old New Zealand international has been out of action for the fast-improving Jets since mid-October when a training mishap left him with a broken Navicular bone in his right foot.
Brockie was forced into a ‘moon boot’ for around eight weeks but after seeing a specialist during the week, the former North Queensland Fury and Sydney FC forward has been given the all-clear to start running and get his rehab under way.
Brockie was impressive earlier in the season when the Jets were struggling but now the Hunter club are up and about with seven matches without a loss helping them to fifth on the league table and he cannot wait to get involved again.
“I’m back running now and will start contact training in three weeks,” he told tribalfootball.com.
“It’s great to back at running and I’ll be using the next three weeks to get as fit as I can before I join the boys on the training ground.”
Brockie has set himself a tentative return date of mid-January and will be striving to get himself back into the starting line-up ahead of the finals.
