Good news for LA Galaxy as Gonzalez targets May return

LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez has given his side a massive boost by revealing that he could be back by early May.

LA Galaxy defender Omar Gonzalez has given his side a massive boost by revealing that he could be back by early May.

The 23-year old suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament whilst training with German club FC Nuremberg in January and was expected to be sidelined for about six months.

But Gonzalez’s rehabilitation has been going extremely well and he could quite possibly be back in the next four or five weeks.

“Great news!!!” he posted on Twitter. “Rehab has been going so well that they moved up my return date: May 1st! #omarscomin' #ballin'”

It is brilliant news for the reigning MLS champions who have so far this season conceded seven goals in three league matches and were also eliminated from the CONCACAF Champions League by Toronto FC who scored four goals in two outings against their defense.
