Good news and bad news for West Ham on injury front

West Ham look like missing loan striker Robbie Keane for a month because of a calf injury but there is good news concerning Matthew Upson's availability. Keane missed the 5-1 FA Cup fifth-round win over Burnley and is a major doubt for Republic of Ireland's Euro 2012 qualifier against Macedonia in March.

Better news for the Hammers comes in the form of Upson, who seems set to quash reports he will not play again this season.

First-team coach Wally Downes said: "The problems with Matthew have certainly been overplayed in the media.

"He's just had a scan, the same most players have every now and again. If you scan any footballer at any time, you will find something wrong with them. The medical people are so thorough nowadays."
