Juventus striker Gonzalo Higuain has apologised to fans after Sunday's Super Cup defeat to Lazio.

Higuain was slammed by local sources for his performance in the loss.

The Argentine has taken to Instagram, to say: "I wanted to apologize to the Juventus fans for yesterday's game.

"They deserve more than that and we have to do more. This is only the beginning and we need your love more than ever because we are strong in being together.

"I promise you that we will spend a fantastic year together."
