Sunderland have completed the signing of Jordi Gomez from Wigan Athletic.

The Spanish midfielder has penned a three-year deal with the Black Cats who he will officially join once his Latics deal expired on July 1.

Gomez has been with Wigan since 2009 and was voted as their Player of the Year last season but will now continue his career at the Stadium of Light.

Gomez becomes the second player to join Sunderland this week following the capture of defender Billy Jones from West Bromwich Albion.
