Fiorentina striker Mario Gomez says he's nearing a playing return.
The former Bayern Munich centre-forward suffered a knee injury last month.
"I am recovering very well and think that at the end of the week I'll be able to train on the field, even if I can't train with the ball yet," he told Viola Channel in his first interview conducted in Italian.
"When I picked up the injury we said it would be seven or eight weeks. Now I've been out for four and feel good, even if it's tough being in the stands. I am more anxious than when I step onto the pitch!
"I hope to be back playing soon, even though I have to 'listen' to what my knee is telling me."
