Jordi Gomez says Hugo Rodallega can fire Wigan Athletic to victory over QPR.

Rodallega, Wigan's top scorer last term, only broke his duck for this season a fortnight ago at Sunderland.

But Gomez said: "People talk about Hugo's lack of goals but that's not reflected in what we see each day in training. He's suffering but I'll back him against QPR.

"What happened when we escaped relegation last season is still in our heads - each match is a final to us.

"Defeat at QPR would give us even more problems. But if we fight against them as we did against Manchester City I am very optimistic."
