Tottenham goalkeeper Heurelho Gomes is convinced he is already a fans' favourite.
The gaffe-prone Brazilian has won over the Spurs faithful, despite a string of costly blunders when he first signed from PSV Eindhoven for £8million.
Gomes told The Sun: "Even in my most troubled days, there was always somebody singing 'Gomes we love you' in the crowd.
"When I meet fans on the street there is always some complimentary comment. Some have said I am almost a legend.
"It is a bit early for such talk but I will do everything to make them proud.
"I believe the worst is behind me now.
"A final is always a game where anything can happen and we proved in a 0-0 draw against United in the league back in December that we are no pushovers."
