Heurelho Gomes admits he has no answer as to why Tottenham struggled under previous manager Juande Ramos.
"I really can't explain what was going wrong," the former PSV Eindhoven goalkeeper told The Sun.
"We were working well during the week but on match-days things just didn't happen the way we wanted.
"I do think it was a problem of confidence, because we have top-quality players.
"Sometimes I would go on the pitch and I just felt that some players weren't that motivated and were scared to show their real potential.
"The players became frustrated and the situation got worse after every match."
