Gold reveals West Ham expanding revenue streams

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold says Financial Fair Play is limiting their transfer spending.

West Ham United co-chairman David Gold says Financial Fair Play is limiting their transfer spending.

The London Evening Standard says West Ham skipper Kevin Nolan, together with Gold and boss Allardyce, were answering questions at a fans’ forum on Tuesday night at Upton Park.

While admitting West Ham’s summer spending was limited by Financial Fair Play rules, Gold, who said the club hoped to sign a striker in the first week of January rather than wait until the end of the month, claimed that new corporate deals and shop sales, plus the fact that half-season loans were cheaper, meant there was now more funds available to strengthen the team’s attacking options.
