West Ham United co-chairman David Gold was pleased with Carsen Yeung's no-show for the victory over Birmingham City.
Gold was reported to be unhappy after Yeung reneged on an agreement to keep him involved with the Blues.
However, the pair did not come face-to-face in the boardroom at Upton Park when the Hammers ran out 2-0 winners over City in midweek.
"I was pleased because - and it's not my way to be unkind - I found the sad way I was treated made me feel like that," Gold told the Birmingham Mail.
"I think, under the circumstances, it was probably better that they weren't there. David Sullivan would have welcomed them with open arms and I probably would have.
"But it just wouldn't have been the same because I think they treated me badly. I can't not be truthful about this."
