Gold Coast United may be forced to use unfit players in their elimination final against Melbourne Victory on Sunday.
Coach Miron Bleiberg has a plethora of injured players on his list at the moment but may risk some of them as it is a last chance match against the Victory at Skilled Park.
Striker Bruce Djite and key midfielders Bas van den Brink and Robson are all in doubt but Bleiberg indicated that painkilling injections may be used to get these types of players up for the contest.
"I would be tempted to play them anyway because there is no second chance," he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
"In this case we ignore personal safety and we just go for it.
"The players themselves know it because we have to go for it for the sake of the others.
"They will go for it even if it affects them."
And despite two defeats in their last two matches, goalkeeper Glen Moss is confident the spirit in the United camp is strong.
"The spirit and the mental attitude is still there," Moss said. "We are going into the start of a brand-new season. You can't lose so it is pretty simple really."
