Gold Coast United skipper Culina unsure about return

Jason Culina is confident he will be at full fitness for Gold Coast United's finals campaign but is unsure of when exactly he will return. With the A-League finals set to begin on February 18, Culina still has some time to get himself right after leaving the Australian squad at the Asian Cup prematurely after aggravating a knee injury.

The United marquee man says he is doing all he can to back on the pitch and help his teammates try and secure a top-two finish with five regular season matches remaining.

"I've got an appointment with the specialist next week so it all depends on what they say but I feel good," he told the Gold Coast Bulletin.

"I have been doing my own thing, staying strong and keeping fit.

"I've been training so I'll ... turn up here every day and support the boys and that's what is most important."

Culina added that United were currently in a strong position and hopes they can continue their good recent form and take it into the AAMI Park clash with Melbourne Victory on Sunday.

"There is no doubt that the boys can do well and just kick on and do well from here," he added.

"They have done great in the last few games. They've scored a lot of goals."
