Official release from Melbourne Victory FC
Melbourne Victory today announces that Gold Coast United defender, Adama Traore, has signed a two-year deal with the club.
Traore has made 56 appearances for the Queensland team, scoring 3 goals, and has proven to be one of the most exciting young players in the competition since moving to the Hyundai A-League ahead of the 2009/10 season.
The 22 year-old said,
"I'm very grateful to everyone at Gold Coast United and have made some good friends through some tough times, but I felt this opportunity was the right move for me.
"Melbourne Victory's fans are the best in the country and the facilities at AAMI Park are amazing, so I can't wait to get down there for pre-season training," Traore added. Melbourne Victory Coach, Jim Magilton, is eager to see the Ivorian in action, "Adama is someone who caught my eye the very first time I saw him play.
"He's a very quick left-sided player and while he's a noted defender, he's also a handful going forward and has scored some nice goals so I expect him to be a real asset to the team," Magilton added. "I'm excited to be moving to Melbourne Victory and look forward to taking the next step in my football career.
