Gold Coast United is reportedly dead after only one season in the A-League after Clive Palmer pulled his support for the club. Reports out of Sydney this morning claim that the FFA have no interest in bailing out the Gold Coast club after Palmer's decision to back out of his support.
Gold Coast struggled to draw crowds in it's inaugural season despite the fact it had several big names lead by Socceroo Jason Culina and prolific Kiwi striker Shane Smeltz.
The demise of Gold Coast would see incoming club Melbourne Heart become the 10th A-League club, ruling out the need for a bye in next season's fixtures.
