Brisbane Roar young gun Mitch Nichols has emerged as a strong target for Gold Coast United.
The 21-year old Southport-born midfielder comes out of contract at the end of the season, prompting United to come in with an offer of around $500,000 over three years to test the Roar’s resolve.
Nichols has forced his way back into the starting line-up in recent weeks, showing his worth to the league leaders some with top-notch performances which have obviously caught the eye of United and coach Miron Bleiberg.
Nichols is currently at the lower end of the Roar payscale and would welcome a rise in his salary. He is currently in talks with the Roar about a new deal.
