Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg has confirmed that striker Shane Smeltz will remain with the club until at least the end of the season. The New Zealand international, who was awarded last season's A-League Player of the Year, has been attracting outside interest recently following brilliant performances with United but Bleiberg said he is not yet up for grabs.
"Shane is staying until the end of the season, that's the arrangement he has with Clive and we have every reason to believe it will be adhered to," said Bleiberg.
"Obviously Shane's form will attract interest.
"That's football reality and when the time comes he can move on with our blessing. But that time is not now."
The 28-year old has already attracted interest from Turkey and Gold Coast also fielded an enquiry from English League One club Norwich City last month.
