Young Gold Coast United attacker Tahj Minniecon is out to prove doubters wrong and is looking forward to match day one of the 2009/2010 A-League season.
Minniecon signed with the new club from Queensland Roar who he believes did not do enough to retain his services.
"There is definitely a point to prove on my behalf," he told the Brisbane Times.
"To be honest, I believe I have a lot more to show."
After leaving the Roar - who are now experiencing financial difficulty - Minniecon feels blessed the move happened when it did.
I feel lucky and satisfied to have moved when I did," he added.
"It's a new challenge. I needed something new - I was getting a bit too comfortable at Brisbane."
