Gold Coast United are in discussions with former Celtic striker Henrik Larsson. The cashed-up A-League franchise are hoping to lure the 37-year old Swede for a nine-match guest stint.

Larsson has also had stints with Spanish giants Barcelona as well as English champions Manchester United and is currently playing in the Swedish first division with Helsingborg.

Gold Coast United coach Miron Bleiberg confirmed on Monday night that discussions were ongoing.
