Gold Coast United boss Miron Bleiberg believes he's set to land Queensland's version of the 'new David Beckham'. Bleiberg is in talks with Richard Geer's agent about a deal with the new A-League franchise, though Queensland Roar are also keen.
"Richard's gone through the development systems at the QAS and AIS and is a great passer of the ball who has a little bit of David Beckham about him," Bleiberg told the Gold Coast Bulletin.
"He's a very polished player who has a really nice fluid style about him.
"I have a philosophy on how football should be played and Richard fits very nicely into that."
Of the Beckham comparisons, a bashful Greer said: "That's a big compliment but I've really done nothing yet. I have a lot to show and prove in my career and really this is just the start. I appreciate the opportunity Miron and Mr Palmer are giving me."
