Gold Coast appoint Boutsianis as 'dead-ball specialist'

Gold Coast United has appointed former Socceroo Con Boutsianis as a specialist coach.

The 37-year old will be the new A-League franchises specialist free-kick and corner coach in a bid for United to become the best at dead-ball situations.

Gold Coast coach Miron Bleiberg said Boutsianis' services would be invaluable for the club.

"Con was the country's best free-kick specialist and crosser of the ball in his time in the old NSL (where he scored 109 goals in 285 appearances, predominantly for South Melbourne) and I feel we can take advantage of his knowledge and his exceptional talent," Bleiberg said.
