GOING NOWHERE: Arsenal target Mahrez agrees to stay at Leicester

Riyad Mahrez has reportedly agreed to remain with Leicester City this summer.

The Guardian is reporting that talks between the Premier League champions and the reigning PFA Player of the Year's representatives on Wednesday culminated in a positive agreement.

Algeria international Mahrez has been the subject of strong interest from Arsenal in recent weeks with some reports suggesting the Gunners had a £35million bid rejected this week.

It is understood that Leicester's director of football Jon Rudkin met with Mahrez's agent and agreed that the 25-year-old will not follow N'Golo Kante out of the King Power Stadium after he joined Chelsea.

Leicester had already persuaded Jamie Vardy not to leave the East Midlands for Arsenal and now they have ensured Mahrez will not be making the move to North London.

Talks regarding a new deal have commenced with the Mahrez camp hoping for a release clause to be inserted for any potential offers received in the future.
