Steve Gohouri has revealed how he would study up on Wigan Athletic while playing in Germany with Borussia Monchengladbach.
The Ivory Coast defender joined the Latics earlier this season after being released by Gladbach.
He told the Wigan Observer: "In Germany, every Monday night they would show all of the Premier League goals from the weekend, which I used to watch even before I came here.
"So I already knew quite a bit about Wigan. I knew about Titus Bramble and Charles N'Zogbia from watching them play on TV.
"I also knew about them through Henri Camara, the Senegal player, who used to play here, and I knew about Emile Heskey because he was a great striker.
"Coming to Wigan is a big step for me. I always wanted to come to play in the Premier League, and I am grateful to Wigan for giving me this chance. Now it's up to me."
