Three big names in Chinese football all scored in the fourth round of the FA Cup on Wednesday but Didier Drogba was nowhere to be seen.
Ex-Blackburn Rovers striker Yakubu Aiyegbeni backed up his goal on debut in the Chinese Super League on the weekend by again scoring but he was unable to help Guangzhou R&F to victory with his new club going down 4-3 to Liaoning Whowin.
Former Borussia Dortmund ace Lucas Barrios was also on target for Guangzhou Evergrande with the equalizing goal as they came from behind to beat Henan Construction 2-1.
Frederic Kanoute, who recently joined Beijing Guoan from Sevilla, scored a double to open his account as his club easily ran out 6-0 winners over Qingdao Jonoon.
However, Shanghai Shenhua could not find a place for star signing Didier Drogba in their line-up with the ex-Chelsea ace still yet to make his debut alongside former Blues teammate Nicolas Anelka. Shanghai were knocked out of the tournament 5-3 on penalties to Changchun Yatai after extra-time ended scoreless.
