Serge Gnabry has lauded Gunners boss Arsene Wenger for playing a crucial part in his development at Arsenal. The 18-year-old German youth international has forced his way into Arsenal's first team this year, and his progress has been rewarded with a new four-and-a-half year contract.
"I am very happy. I know the manager (Arsene Wenger) is fully on the side of young players and that I will be handed a proper chance at this club," he told kicker-Sportmagazin.
"And that's exactly how things went for me. In everyday life Mr Wenger is very much down-to-earth.
"He is very often talking to me and he is pointing me into the right direction.
"It's a fact that it's only me to decide my future progress. It will be all about my future performance and my future conduct."
