Glazer family have no plans to sell up at Man Utd

The Glazer family remain committed to their Manchester United ownership.

The Daily Express says a recent share issue, which earned the Glazer family £89 million, sparked speculation that the Glazers could be considering selling up in the wake of the death of Malcolm Glazer in May.

But Glazers' five sons and one daughter remain determined to continue their spell of ownership and have no intention of selling.

United's commercial department continues to excel and their recent £750 million kit 10-year kit deal with Adidas dwarfed the previous biggest £31 million a year contract the manufacturer as with Real Madrid.

There have also been huge deals with Aon to sponsor the club's training ground and training kit, worth £180 million over eight years, and a £47 million a season deal with Chevrolet to become shirt sponsors among other significant deals in the last 14 months.

The Adidas agreement, which comes into effect next year, is worth only £40 million less than the Glazers paid for the club in 2005 and in May United were valued at £1.85 billion. Following the takeover nine years ago, the club's debt was £660 million but that was reduced to £330 million by May this year.
