Glasgow police in hunt for racially abusive fan

Police are scouring CCTV footage in a bid to find a fan who racially abused Rangers midfielder Maurice Edu. The club has made an official report on behalf of the United States international over the incident on Tuesday night, following the Light Blues' Champions League defeat by Unirea Urziceni at Ibrox.

Edu, who is recovering from a knee injury and watched the 4-1 loss from the stands, was targeted by one of his own club's supporters as he got into his car.

A spokesman said: "Strathclyde Police has received a complaint regarding an incident where racial abuse was directed at a Rangers football player.

"A man, who was accompanied by another man shouted abuse at the player within the school car park in Hinshelwood Drive, Ibrox.

"Police officers are currently viewing CCTV footage and working with Rangers Football Club to trace the person responsible."
