Gladbach chief Eberl leaves Vestergaard door open to Arsenal offer

Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl isn't shutting the door on selling Jannik Vestergaard this month.

The Denmark defender, says BILD, is a target for Arsenal as they seek a successor for Per Mertesacker. The German veteran will retire at the end of the season to take charge of Arsenal's academy.

It's suggested with Liverpool paying £75m for former Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, a similar bid from Arsenal for Vestergaard will convince Eberl to sell.

"There is no reason for us to give up Jannik!" declared Eberl yesterday, though nothing is being ruled out.

Eberl is also pushing to bring back Reece Oxford from West Ham.
