Borussia Monchengladbach chief Max Eberl has hinted the chances of keeping Andreas Christensen are receding.

The Dane is the second season of a two-year loan from Chelsea and Gladbach have attempted to negotiate a fee over a permanent deal for the defender.

But yesterday, Eberl admitted to Express: "It's a complicated situation. That's one thing that we have to discuss with Chelsea.

'Chelsea has a new coach, they have a top player who we currently rely on.

"The subject is on the table - we must look, when and how we can move the talks forward."
