Gladbach chief: Christensen ‘must’ return to Chelsea

Borussia Mönchengladbach sporting director Max Eberl has confirmed that Andreas Christensen will be back to Chelsea next season.

The Danish defender has starred for Gladbach during his two-year loan spell which expires at season's end.

There has been plenty of speculation over the course of the stint suggesting if Christensen would join the German club permanently but Eberl has revealed that highly-rated 20-year-old is returning to Stamford Bridge.

Confirming that midfielder Mahmoud Dahoud will join Borussia Dortmund this summer, Eberl told Kicker: "He (Christensen) must go back to Chelsea FC.

"Those are the two players [Dahoud and Christensen] that we have to replace in the summer.

"There are no others. And we don't want any others [to leave us]."

During his time a Borussia Park, Denmark international Christensen has made over 50 Bundesliga appearances for the Foals.
