Giulianelli: Napoli encouraging Man Utd to do Higuain business; Sabatini due at Chelsea

I begin this column with the words of Aurelio De Laurentiis, the Napoli president.

During a presentation of a book, De Laurentiis declared: "[Last summer] someone even knocked on our door for Higuain and for this reason I inserted the clause in his contract, so if there is someone willing to pay it we will see..."

This was more than just a declaration of availability and an offer to sit down at the table and discuss with whomever wants to take Gonzalo Higuain.

This is the case for Manchester United. As I wrote last time, they are getting closer to the Argentinian striker.

Talks between Jose Mourinho and Higuain's entourage are continuing to progress.

SABATINI'S NEXT DESTINATION

It's not a secret anymore that Walter Sabatini is in pole position to join Antonio Conte at Chelsea as sports director.

Yesterday he told the press: "I asked the president to bring forward the ending of my contract and for now he seems to have accepted".

Translation: Sabatini next June will be free, Roma are looking around to find a new director and he will take a flight with his next destination London. The Blues side, of course...

SWANSEA NEED TO GET BEHIND GUIDOLIN

Francesco Guidolin was satisfied with his Swansea City's last win against Aston Villa on Saturday. It was a direct clash between two teams struggling to avoid relegation.

I don't understand some critics I've read about his work in Wales: he's doing well and he deserves confidence - from the club and from the supporters.
